Whether you're near or far, our custom order process is designed to be an easy and straightforward way of helping you realize the ring of your dreams.
At Valerie Madison, we specialize in unique engagement rings made with traditional diamonds, antique diamonds, champagne diamonds, and sapphires of all colors (especially teals!).
Read on below for a simple walk-through of our custom order process. Our team will work one-on-one with you to create your perfect ring.

The Custom Order Process Explained
1. Consultation
Join us in person or virtually to discuss rings that fit what you're looking for. During your 30 minute appointment we’ll help with any questions, show you ring settings that match your lifestyle and aesthetic, and determine what types of diamonds and gemstones will meet your preferences. Our custom work starts at $3,500 and typically ranges in the $4,000 - $15,000 range.
2. Stone Sourcing & Deposit*
We require a $250 non-refundable procurement fee to begin searching for your perfect gem through our trusted network of gemstone and diamond dealers. Our team will present you with stone options and you will choose one for your custom ring. The time it takes to find your stone may be increased for harder-to-come-by stones. Once you select your stone from our curated options, we will draft your invoice for payment.
Please note that custom orders less than $5,000 will require payment in full. Orders $5,000+ may be split into two payments.
3. CAD review/approval
We will share with you digital mock-ups (called CAD renderings) of your ring to review and approve via email. Up to two adjustments are allowed before additional CAD fees of $250 are requested.
4. Production (4-6 wks)
Once you approve your design, we will spend the next few weeks casting, polishing, and setting stones. We will send you an update when the ring is completely finished.
5. Final Payment & Delivery
The last and most exciting step! You will be invoiced for the remaining balance. After your final payment we will have your ring shipped or ready for in-store pickup.
We will provide you with a lovely ring box, ring material documentation, information on our warranty, care and cleaning. We are happy to offer complimentary cleanings and check-ups on your ring for a lifetime.
